Felixmüller works as an artist, media cultural theorist and tutor. After working as a freelance photographer in Hamburg Maria L. Felixmüller studied art and photography at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (Acedemy of Visual Arts) in Leipzig. She wrote her dissertation on chambers of curiositie, Aby M. Warburg and the Internet and finished her doctorial degree in philosophy in 2017.
